Powder pact review : skin79 skinny mirror pact

Actually i have this pact since like more than a year ago.. i know i knowww... a very late review.. hohoho.. That time i was looking for a new powder pact to replace my skin food lettuce cucumber pact.. i was browsing and found this..now you can guess why i chose this right? hehehe yup... one of the reason was the cute packaging! look at that picture above.. and this picture below..

When other pact are conventional, just flip to open and close, this one you can rotate the mirror as you like... and it's skinny size and model, it looks like a phone..And what i like more about this is that when i have this i don't have to bring another small mirror. i used this as a mirror to go. i don't have to flip open the pact because the mirror is actually on the outside side, not inside like other pact. so when i needed to apply lipstick, for example, or just checking my face, i just used this.

to make it short, this pact powder offer spf 22 sun protection, smooth and natural result, and sebum control

so this is what it looks like.. simple, skinny, with a mirror on the outside packaging.. not inside.. well, there is a mirror inside too but not as clear as the one outside

 the shade i have is #21, the lighter shade..

i tried to make swatch on my hand but as i took a picture it didn't show so i just swipe with my powder brush and this is what i got..
Normally i chose no #23 from korean brand, but at that time it wa sonly this shade available and i'm glad that it's good for me too, not too light. in fact it's kind of perfect shade!
now to the product..
first, the scent.. it claims to have a hint of floral scent. i was curious so i sniffed the powder.. well, i douldn't smell any floral at all.. it just smells like normal talk.. no floral or any other sweet scent.
it comes with a small squere sponge powder applicator which is smooth and nice to use. But for more natural finish sometimes i use my powder brush..

the performance of the powder..
it claims to create a smooth natural looking.. indeed, it is.. i like how it gave me natural finish.. not like wearing a mask or heavy make up on my face.. it's just like my skin but better look. as for the sebum control it's quite good, although not superb.. in the time when my nose became more oily i prefer to dab extra on the nose area with skinfood peach sake silky finish powder.. but in normal time or condition this pact was enough for me.
The only down side from this pact for me is that it's not good when my skin was in dryer condition.. i have to be careful using this because it tend to be chalky and the result was not smooth. i needed extra moisturiser or very good moisturizing base/bb cream before applying this pact or else it would be chalky and show my dry skin (sometimes dry flakes) even more.. But when i applied this with powder brush it was better and not chalky..

overall..
i like this pact.. in fact this is my pact to go that i always have it inside my bag. it's like for my touch up pact.. it's been more than a year but still not finish because i didn't use it everyday.. i only use this powder to touch up when i'm not home.. but when i'm home i prefer loose powder.
As long as my face normal or normal combination, not dry, this pact is good for me.

Face primer review : Baviphat Sugar girl all skin collagen primer

Sooooo.... it's almost the end of 2012.. This could be my last review post this year.. Next day i'm just gonna write about my favourite products of 2012, so this could be the last review this year. Did i save the best for last? lol yeah indeed.. maybe not the best but one of my favourite.

I've been searching for a primer that gave me smooth surface before putting my make up, and normally that type of primer comes in gel texture, not cream. I wanted something like revlon beyond solution primer. i liked it a lot, the revlon one at the end it tend to dry my face. But i liked it and finished it anyway. Then my previouse primer products since i was into korean cosmetics was Missha M BB boomer and Nature republic ice jelly primer. Both was a good primer base but didn't satisfied me since i wanted the silky smooth effect from a primer.

On my blogger comment box, one of my beauty blogger, frozen blossoms suggested me this primer, Baviphat sugar girl all skin collagen primer. You can read her review here. So on my next pre order, i ordered this one.

I like the tube packaging. This one looks like a color paint isn't it.. specially the cap.

I didn't know that there's english description on Baviphat packaging now. Last time (last year i think) i ordered baviphat product it was still all in korean.

Color and texture :

it's a transparent gel. Once i applied it on my face, it gave me this smooth surface i wanted. Yeaayyy!!!

it smoothen my pores, my skin, and prepared my face for the next step.

Together with bb cream on top, it gave me smooth flawless face, and even though i went out under the sun, sweat, in and out stores, when i came back home my face still looked good, not dull.

and it also didn't dry out my skin. another yeayyy!!!oh, and it's cheap toooo!!! compare to other primer that's rp.100.000 or above, this one below that price.

did i say sound to excited? in conclusion, i love this primer and will continue using it till the last drop. In fact because of this primer i'm sooo tempted to try the bb cream from this sugar girl line.

eye liner review : skin food choco eyeline jam

Last year i tried etude house code b gel eyeliner, and fell in love with it, not just the product but the eye liner with gel type. Before gel eye liner normally i just used pencil eye liner, and sometimes for special ocasion liquid eye liner. But i'm not really good with liquid eye liner (it was really hard to draw with it!). and now i think i'm converted to gel eye liner, at least for awhile. let's see in the future maybe they come up with another type of eye liner.

My etude house code b gel eye liner is dry now. once i forgot to close the lid, and that's  it. when i came back it was already dried. :( Well, i'm not really sad. for me it's an excuse to try other product. i chose skin food because well, skin food is my fav brand, and i read some good reviews abut this, so i chose number 2, which is brown.

The eye liner comes with this cute little glass jar. yup, it's a glass little jar, not plastic. so cute, just like a jam. maybe that's why skin food named it eyeline jam, not gel.
so, how is it?

• the texture is creamy and thick, easy to apply. there is no eye liner brush comes with it, so make sure you have one before you buy this.
• the colour is pretty. dark brown, natural on the eyes. sometimes when i wear black eye liner i felt too much, but with this colour it looks natural and perfect for me who is a housewife and mother who went out only for shopping for grocery and meet some friends or family, not meeting with client or hang out in a hip-happening cafe.
• just need a second or two to dry, so you don't have to wait long to set on your eye lid.
• it's waterproof. i drew a line on my hand, and then i tried to remove it with water and i couldn't. i needed  my cleansing oil to remove it

for me it is really good product. even better than etude house code b gel eye liner, in my opinion. too bad it doesn't comes with extra eye liner brush, so it would be not to practical for travelling.But still, it's very recommended!

another cute stuff from skin food.  multi purpose for your lips and cheeks. i thought, oh cute. i want that! yup. this is kind of product i wanted, not needed. i mean, i have enough blush on and lipstick. i don't really need more. but since it is cute, and i thought it would be great to carry on my purse or for travelling with its dual function, so why not?

my thought:

when i first look at the colour, i though it would be perfect pink-natural colour.
well, it was good on my cheek, but on my lip, it didn't work! it looked soo fake on my lip, didn't set well, plus it made my lip looks dry, so i won't use it as a lip colour anymore. so dissapointed though, cause overall now it's just a cream blush, not multi purpose as i thought it would be.
anyway this is the swatch:

it is too bad it didn't work for me as a lip colour, because i like the scent of it. it smells lovely, apricot-like, and when i applied on my lip i could smell the lovely scent for some minutes.
and as for a cream blush, it is quite good. easy to blend, looks natural, and it is compact and good for travelling or carry around in your purse as you don't need to bring your brush. well, just make sure that your hand is clean before applying this.

overall, not too happy, but still i will try another cute stuff like this.. (i saw something like this from missha and etude house) hehe..

foundation review : skinfood black egg pore foundation

i lost the outer packaging because i opened it and start using it when i was still in jakarta, but this is what it looks like 

picture i searched on google. there is also serum and primer for this line. the outer packaging is a plastic, not a carton box like most other foundation packaging.

this one is my first skinfood foundation. i've tried some famous skin food bb creams, but never tried skinfood foundation. since last year i have been looking for skinfood's foundation to try, but none of them stole my heart. and then this year they have this new line, a cute shape egg, with pore minimize target, just what i need. i have a pore problem on my nose, so when i look for foundation i am looking for foundation that can minimize and hide the pores. 

 

now let's take a look of the product;

there is a foundation brush attach to the lid that seperate the foundation and the brush.

there is a lid to cover the foundation.

the brush is small, flat, soft. actually it is a good brush. i have no problem with this brush, i don't need to use my etuse house fpundation brush to apply this foundation because the brush id good enough and perfect.

ok, let's review one by one. sorry, i got excited.hehe

the texture:

mousse-creamy pact type. easy to apply, easy to blend.

the smell :

almost nothing. in fact i tried to smell it very closely and it was only a soft foundation-like smell.

the colour:

number 2 is perfectly match for me, although i don't know how number 1 will look on me, because in my experience skinfood bb cream fit me both number 1 and 2.

performance:

very good! it smoothed and covered my pores well. i could feel my nose soft and not oily with this. matte and natural, adn it could last lost. i used this foundation for all special occasion (for everyday i use only bb cream), idul fitri, idul adha, friend's wedding, halal bihalal, you named it, i used this and i got a nice look for all day, no need touch up.

others :
i like the brush too!!!

Golden rose : Cosmetic from Turkey

When i went to my favorite shop here in Taiz, Yemen, there was this new cosmetic stall. i thought it was farmasi, also turkish cosmetic brand, that i found some of their stall here. but when i stopped by and look around, hmmm.. what is this? Golden rose. also made in turkey. I asked some price, and all the price i asked under 2000 reyal or under 10 USD, so i thought, ok, i will buy some to give it a try.

so, i bought ball blusher and 1 of the lipstick. i wanted to buy their mousse foundation as i liked the texture (i tried the tester), but too bad they don't have my shade.

  So.. this is how it looks like.. the packaging was ok.. not special, but quite nice..

i tried both, i like the lipstick, it looks natural on my lips and the colour just like the way i like it. the ball blusher is sooo pigmented, soo pinky on me,,, i was just stroke my brush a little, and surprised with the result how only one stroke was enough for both cheeks.

before i wrote this post i checked the website to see and read more about this brand. the website is nice, very informative.

overall, i am glad that this brand came to Yemen. i would like to try more for sure, as they are cheap.. the lipstick is less than 5USD and the ball blusher is less than 10USD.. i can't remember..

Sempet bingung juga sih pilih2 primer.di rie butik tempat aku beli ini aja tiap brand ada primer.yang aku taksir dari skin food ada lettuce cucumber matte finish gel,dari etude ada baby skin base dan peach pore tightening base, sementara dari missha ada m bb boomer dan dari baviphat juga ada bb primernya.stelah browsing2,akhirnya pilihanku jatuh pada..missha.
Dari pertama coba oled di tangan, keliatan seperti ada gliternya agak nyaru.tapi setelah dioles dan meresap di muka,ga ada gliternya.efeknya sih seperti pelembab,formulanya ringan. Bagusnya muka keliatan lebih cerah dan ga kusam.dioles bb cream setelahnya, cling cling..bagus deeehhh pokoknya.

Downside nya, ini bener2 sperti namanya, bb boomer, cuma bikin aplikasi bb cream maksimal,melembabkan dan mempersiapkan kulit sebelum pake bb cream. Tapi ga berfungsi sbg primer kebanyakan yang bikin muka serasa diamplas dan mulus rata klo dipegang. Krn aku punya juga primer nya revlon yang gel bening itu, itu begitu dioles ke muka, bener2 pas dipegang muka alus rata,bekas2 jerawat dan komedo ngga keraba, bener2 bikin kulit siap di make up.
Sementara klo missha cuma melembabkan dan mencerahkan.
Aku sih lebih prefer missha klo utk sehari2 pake bb cream. Klo primer spt revlon buat aku sih utk klo sblum mau pake foundation,bedak fan full make up gitu

update march 2011--> believe it or not, i have this tube all this time i never read the description on the packaging. just now i read it. so it is said it contains pearl and will make your skin look brighter.. No wonder.. i can se some brightening effect.. in fact from the cream itself i can see some sparkle like glitter, but when i blend on my skin it dissapeared.

One more thing, one day my 2 year old daughter took this tube when i was not around, and she squeezed looots of amount... arrrrgggggghhh.... and she applied it to her face. reallyy loootts of it. and... her face sparkling!! all night i couldn't stop laughing when i saw her face bling bling.. hehe..

cuma karena so far paling favorit masih skinfood, jadi aku putuskan, skin food aja deh,, yang mana? pilih lettuce cucumber karena lettuce cucumber line nya untuk hydrating kan,, kayanya cocok untuk di yaman yang kulit muka selalu dehidrasi..

pas aku coba, heeemmm biasa biasa aja siiih,, yang jelas warnanya naturaaaalll banget,, bagus sih natural,, tapi saking naturalnya jadi malah kaya ga pake bedak sama sekali,,, emang most of the time itu yang aku cari sih,, dandanan natural,, tapi jadi klo mau ke acara special dikit pesta ato apa gitu, aku jadi ga punya bedak dehh,, hehe

anyway, kalo ke kulit nya sendiri sih si far aku cocok,, yang jelas ngga bikin kering dan ga memperlihatkan dry flakes yang kadang2 ga keliatan tapi pas dikasih bedak tau2 keliatan,, pake ini sih ngga,,


yang aku suka juga kemasannya,, ada kaca plastik terpisah antara bedak dan spons nya,,, jadi ga perlu khawatir plastik pelapisnya ilang ato jatoh,, ..

kesimpulannya,,, bedak ini cocok buat aku, but this is type of product that i will not repurchase,, next time bakal coba varian bedak yang lain aja,,, heeemmm,, kandidatnya kayanya sih etude house yang precious mineral compact nya deh,,

ini pertama kali aku cobain eye liner model cream yang aplikasinya pake kuas.. dari dulu pengen coba sejak lagi booming mac cream liner,, tapi takut berantakan,, soalnya aku selama ini byaman dengan eye liner pensil,, pake yang cair selalu ga pernah sukses,,
tapi penasaran pengen coba,, mumpung ini kalo beli ikutan PO murah,, aku beli,, sekali coba,, wow, this is the best eye liner i've ever tried! well, at least compared to allll eye liner pencil & liquid karena aku kan belum coba eye cream liner lainnya,,
tapi bener deehhh hasilnya mantap.. aplikasiinnya gampang... ga berantakan.. warna itemnya mantap,, sekali colek dikit bisa bikin 3-4 garis kalo coba di tangan,, kebetulan aku juga beli etude house eyeliner brush, walaupun sebenernya udah including brush, tapi aku tetep beli aja,, yang brush dari eye linernya sendiri bentuknya kecil, dan ujungnya ga lancip,, jadi kalo mau hasil yang lebih tipis dan mau dilukis mendingan pake etude house eyeliner brush nya sihh..

overalllll.... this is my fav now.. ,, sejak punya ini eye liner pensil ku ga masuk tas makeup lagi.. tergeletak aja di meja rias,, malah ada yang ketinggalan di jakarta.. hehe

ngebaca review nya brand brtc semuanya WOW.. penasaran, aku kumpulin review2nya, dan sepertinya banyak yang recommend jasmine water dan gold caviar.. aku coba deh sample jar nya.

Pas buka, waduh,, warnanya terang banggeeett keputihan nih kayanya di muka. aku coba, bener awalnya agak putih, tapi karena baca2 review banyak yang bilang kalo warna bb cream emang cuma 1 atau 2 tone, karena nantinya akan menyesuaikan dengan warna kulit. Oh, Really?
dan banyak yang menyarankan, kalo pake bb cream sebaiknya 15 menit sebelum keluar rumah karena tunggu warnanya menyesuaikan.
sounds magic, isn't it?

jadi ya walau awalnya hasil keputihan aku diemin aja. 15 menit kemudian.. emang bagus sih hasilnya. dan lucunya justru sejam kemudian pas aku ngaca, the bb cream just looks perfect on me!! 3 jam kemudian pas ngaca, even better!! mukaku keliatan cerah glowing alami!! great!!
Besok2annya aku lebih hati2 pake nya, ditotol sedikit2 supaya ga keputihan awalnya. dan emang lebih bagus sedikit2 begitu..

ada efek healingnya? surprisingly, Ada!!! aku juga kaget.. ini mengempiskan jerawat baru!! jadi waktu itu tiba2 ada jerawat baru nongol.. waktu itu aku lagi konsisten make skinfood mushroom bb cream minggu keempat. eh ada jerawat iseng muncul.
besokannya aku ganti bb cream jasmine water yang sempet dicuekin, dan jerawatnya ilang! ga langsung lenyap gitu aja, hehe tapi dalam 2 hari betul2 hampir ilang ga keliatan.senengg bangeett

o ya, ini juga bagus buat kulit kering.. waktu di sini lagi peralihan musim dingin ke summer udara jelek banget, kering, kulit mukaku sampe kering yang pecah2 gitu.. cuma 2 bb cream yang bisa bantu healing keringnya kulitku, yaitu jasmine water ini dan skinfood aloe vera..

seneng dehh nemu bb cream yang ada efek healingnya gini.. kekurangannya cuma warnanya, untuk adjust ke kulitku mesti nunggu lama.. ga bisa kalo lagi buru2 mau keluar rumah pake ini trus keluar, wahh ga bisa.. mukanya kaya badut.hihihi oh ya, satu lagi kekurangannya..harga full tube-nya muahal bangeeeetttt...

update 23 agustus : seminggu belakangan ini ga tau kenapa entah perubahan cuaca, debu yang sedang parah2nya, mukaku beruntusan dan muncul tamu2 ga diundang alias jerawat, 3 di dahi, 1 di dagu, 1 di pipi, apa ga nyebelin tuh? obatinnya? aku pake zamian mask dan siangnya pake brtc jasmine water.. padahal aku lagi asik testing missha PC, begitu beruntusan, langsung ganti BRTC lg.. setelah seminggu,, voila!! goodbye jerawat.. mukaku kembali normal.. bener2 bantu banget deehh

update march 20,2011--> now that i've tried lots of BB creams, i can say that this is one of the best among others, this is in my top 5 i guess, and everytime i got fade up with other new bb creams that not moisturize enough, i always back to this one.

Waktu awal-awal coba produk-produk korea tahun lalu, untuk loose powder aku pilih palgantong (morning set) dan untuk compact powder nya aku pilih skin79.

well, sebenernya aku beli ini juga ketidaksengajaan, kalau ngga bisa disebut kesalahan.
Jadi awalnya aku itu pesen skin79 compact yang hot pink, karena sekalian beli BB cream yang pink pearl waterdrop. Kemudian aku transfer, beberapa hari kemudian sellernya telpon bilang compact hot pink nya habis!! lah? aku kan udah transfer.. aku pikir, apa ada orang lain yang duluan transfer yang pesen compact yang sama?
sellernya nawarin untuk dipesenin lagi atau ikut PO atau barangnya udah jalan aku luoa, yang aku inget kata sellernya barang itu akan datang lagi sekitar 2-3minggu lagi.

waduuuhh waktu itu aku di jakarta jadwalnya gak lama, ga bisa nunggu selama itu. Akhirnya sellernya nawarin compact ini. the oriental. aku pikir, ah sama-sama skin79. yah oke lah daripada gak ada aku ambil aja yang ready stock.

ok, now back to the review.
Packagingnya aku sukaaa,,, ada kaca plastik pemisah antara bedak dan spons nya.. jadi ga perlu pake plastik pemisah seperti kebanyakan bedak di pasaran. Setelah survey2, ternyata sekarang emang banyak kosmetik yang pake model seperti ini untuk compact powdernya. aku lihat produk2 skinfood juga modelnya seperti ini.

what i like :

Pas pertama aku lihat produknya, kok kayanya light ya.. jangan jangan keputihan pas aku coba, ih enggak kookk natural banget malah.. warnanya kaya sama banget dengan kulitku. aku jejerin dengan bedak compact loreal true match ku, warnanya hampir mirip, cuma kalo loreal ada tone pink nya dikit, kalo skin79 ga ada, bener2 warna naturalll banget..

aku juga mau comment untuk spons bedaknya,.. so far it is the smoooothest spons bedak yang pernah aku pakai (dan free dari bedaknya bukan beli terpisah!) spons yang ada dari revlon, loreal, dan bedak2 lain yang pernah aku pakai ngga selembut ini.. ini paliiinngg lembut dan memudahkan aplikasi

Dipake di muka, baguuuss.. menyempurnakan tampilan bb cream, dan bikin muka aluss.. trus ringan, ngga kerasa seperti pake bedak. dan untuk kulit keringku selama tinggal di Yaman ini lumayan, ngga bikin kering asal sebelumnya pakai pelembab yang cukup


oh ya, ini mengandung SPF 25 PA++

what i dont like

bedak ini ngga bisa dipake sendirian, dalam artian cuma pake ini aja tanpa pake apa-apa sebelumnya. Padahal aku suka bedak yang bisa dipake cepet saat lagi buru-buru.. Misalnya saat malem lagi ngga ber make-up lagi santai2 di rumah, trus suami ajak keluar makan malam, disuruh cepet gak pake lama, aku suka cuma semptrot face mist trus pake compact powder.. Naahhh dengan skin79 ini gak bisa.. pertama, muka jadi kering dan terlihat dry flakes..kedua, warnanya jadi keputihan dan ngga terlihat natural..

waktu dulu aku pake compact powder revlon, itu bisa banget cuma semprot face mist trus poles bedak, and ready to go..

jadi kesimpulannya bedak ini perfect dipake bareng bb cream (atau foundation)

for next aku mau coba compact powder nya skin food atau etude.. ada yang pake compact skin food atau etude house? buat kulit indonesia bagusnya yang mana ya?

update march 20, 2011--> as far as i like this pact, i didn't wait until it finish to buy another pact. i guess it's the fact that sometimes it made my skin dry, showing the dry flakes, so i just bought skin food lettuce cucumber pact and put this pact aside in my drawer.
