Multi colour blush/bronzer/powder blush

For me, regular one colour blush on is boring. hehe, at least for now. For many years i was using shu uemura blush on. Love it! but it's expensive :(  i've tried some other blush on from oriflame, revlon, etude house, then ever since i have nyx mozaic blush, i started looking for more similar product like that. Multi colour powder blush/ blush on/bronze or whatever they named it, not just they are cute from the look, but also you can create some different tone. you can mix them all, or you can use some colours only.
anyway, this is my collection at this time;
nyx tango with bronze powder - NYX mosaic powder - innisfree herb pastel blusher
look at them! so lovely, right. sorry, i didn't get a chance to review them all yet, only nyx mosaic powder.
anyway, i'm not happy with innisfree pastel herb blusher. i wanted the orange-peach colour, and innisfree pastel herb blusher colour looks slightly different than in the picture.the real colour is softer than in the picture, and it's not really pigmented. so i'm looking for new blush like this, in pastel colour, orange and pink.
i looked on the net, o..ow.. so many choices out there! so i need your help to decide which one to buy. hehe.. or myabe iy you have one of products like this, please share!

look at all this pretty blush/bronzer i found:
 From Missha :

Missha M signature blossom. nice pretty orange and pink. you can read a review about them in lotus palace blog here

Missha M prism multi blusher. look at the packaging. so girly with bling bling

from etude house

etude house luci darling over the rain blusher

etude house my wish cheek

from skin food

skin food apple can multi blusher

and of course the cute one from holika holika
merry holika with a cute cat in it
midnight owl, with an owl in it

holika holika love fantasy, the new one from holika holika
From the face shop
the face shop precious collection all over face color
From tony moly
tony moly shimmer lover cube
From milani

milani powder mosaic multi color blush
 milani illuminating face powder
they are cute right. wait. there's more!
Vov aura shimmer blusher
smashbox. but i don't think i will buy this one. it's too expensive (comparing to other blush/bronzer above). well, i put it here because i just loooove the colour.
from local brand, there is one from sari ayu, and it's cheap. i'll go check their store when i travel to jakarta.

so.. what do you think girls? which one is worth to buy? i'm looking for something looks fresh and natural, pink or orange tone with a hint of brown is ok. no shimmer or a little shimmer (not too much like disco ball). Have you tried one of them? please share and drop some comment.

hair care review : makarizo texture experience black chocolate shampoo and conditoner

I started using Makarizo texture experience shampoo and conditioner since almost 2 years ago. I have tried 4 variants so far ; cinnamon coffee, strawberry yogurt, vanilla milk, and then lately this one, black chocolate. there are still 2 other variants; green tea butter and mint sorbet, i have both too, but still in my drawer, not open yet. So, from the variants i mentioned above, you can see why i like this shampoo and conditioner. Yes, of course it's because the yummy name, which means also yummy, sweet, delicious scent. All variants i've tried, they really smell just like the name. i enjoy my time in shower more because of the nice scent!

so, what is this black chocolate shampoo and conditioner?
From makarizo indonesia website, this is the description of black chocolate:

BLACK CHOCOLATE
MAKARIZO Texture Experience "Black Chocolate" diperkaya ekstrak Cocoa yang diformulasi untuk mencegah kerusakan rambut dengan mengontrol tingkat kelembaban kulit kepala.
Prevent hair damaged & control scalp moisture level.

My experience with makarizo black chocolate shampoo and conditioner:
first, it smells chocolate. yeaaayy.. but not too chocolate or real yummy chocolate to eat, it's just a chocolate artificial scent :( and it reminds me of my childhood, i tried to remember i couldn't.. i knew when i was a kid i have something smell similar like this. was it a soap, toys, cookies? i tried to think back to remember... wait. i remember a little just now as i'm writing this!! it smells like a sticker with a scent..if you were born around 1980-1990 maybe, you will now it. when i was a little, maybe in elementry school, there was this sticker (it was the era of sticker collection) that when you rub it, you wil get the aroma just like the picture in the sticker. and i love the chocolate one. yup, this shampoo smells just like that chocolate sticker. the conditioner smells similar with the shampoo.

next, the texture. the shampoo is clear with light brown colour, quite thick and easy to form bubble, while the conditioner.. oh my God.. the colour... it's like a blood or betadine! yukkksss.... i will show you the picture of shampoo and conditioner
left : shampoo right: conditioner
you see the conditioner on the right? sooo spooky! and the worst is when it's on the bathroom floor, it looks like blood!! and every after shower i have to look around to make sure there is no stain from this conditioner that will make my bathroom look like there's blood in it. rrrrrrggggghhhhhhh...... sorry if i make you gross with this conditioner.
anyway, the texture of conditioner is light creamy, like lotion. i need lots of the product to cover all my hair, plus it's not rich enough for conditioner.

shampoo

conditioner :

next, the result.
heemmm... it was ok. nothing too special. the shampoo cleans my hair well, but the conditioner didn't help much for my dry hair. still at the end of the day my hair get tangled and dry at the end.both products give a nice scent, but the scent doesn't stay long in my hair. less than a day. just so so, i guess. what i don't like and make me won't buy this again is the colour of the conditioner...with a chocolate name it should be brown-yummy chocolate colour, not bloody red! anyway, comparing to other makarizo texture experience shampoo and conditioner, i must say that this one is the worst. i think my favourite from makarizo is the vanilla milk. or cinnamon coffee..hehe.. can't choose one.

skin care sample review : Baviphat miracle snail cure toner and emulsion

SNAIL? yes, snail. i love snail, as in escargot dish in a french restaurant. Now snail for my skin care? rrrrr... i always love skin care with yummy, sweet delicious scent like honey, peach, strawberry, banana, kiwi, tea, lavender..even chocolate or coffee. but snail? yeah, definitely not yummy type for skin care right? well, i got this one as a gift, so nothing to lose for me to try.

I know, snail in skin care is booming right now. if last year was an egg invasion in korean skin care, this year is snail!! not just for skin care, even for bb cream! last year when i made an order for korean cosmetic, snail was not booming like these days, so i didn't order even a sample for it. if i knew back then, i would ask for sample of snail skin care from all korean cosmetics company, not just baviphat. and then lately i read lots of reviews about this snail in skin care that supposed to bring some cure and miracle effect. but i think etude house darling snail cream and tony moly snail skin care are the most popular. I couldn't find any review about baviphat snail toner and emulsion, i only found some reviews about baviphat snail mask.

anyway, let's see how this baviphat miracle snail cure toner and emulsion look likes..
The packaging for the full size bottle of baviphat miracle snail cure toner (pictures random from google). the emulsion has the same packaging with the toner.

and this is what i got as a sample gift
a very tiny bottle.. only for 1 week.or maybe less? i got 2 toner and 1 emulsion.

what is this product anyway? i searched on google and i got this information from ebay seller ;

toner

The combination of Snail Secretion Filtrates (25%) which give back the stability to unbalanced troubled skin caused by stress and irritaion, and peptides which are effective for skin elasticity tightens and fills up sagging skin.
In addition, niacin amide brightens skin tone and supplements energy.

It is a refreshing feeling toner

emulsion

The combination of Snail Secretion Filtrates (25%) which give back the stability to unbalanced troubled skin caused by stress and irritaion, and peptides which are effective for skin elasticity tightens and firms up sagging skin.

In addition, Centella Asiatica extract and allantoin help skin regeneration and gives nutrition to the skin.
It is a moistness lasting emulsion.

my experience with Baviphat miracle snail cure toner and emulsion
First time i opened the cap, i sniffed to check the scent. well, it's snail! i need to make sure that it smells ok. hehe.. thank God, there is no weird scent. it smells just like any other cosmetics or drug store skin care. there is a light sweet scent in fact.
the toner texture is just like any other toner, liquid and the colour is clear. it was refreshing and not sticky. it's a type of toner i like, minus the sweet yummy scent. no break out.
the emulsion texture is very light lotion. at first i thought it's too light and won't give me enough moisturizer. turned out that although it was very light, it was rich and kept my face moisturised day and night.
the first day i used both toner and emulsion, at night i was shocked to see sooo many white heads on my nose. this is weird because it was just the night before i applied the face shop black head nose clay mask, and normally my nose will stay clean for the next 2-3days, but on the day i applied this skin care for the first time, all those white heads came out again on my nose, arrrgggghhh... what's this? is it because this emulsion? well, it's very rich moisturiser that makes my nose more oily than usual.. is it because of that?

but anyway.. it was only the first day. the next days it was ok, no more white heads after i pluged out those whiteheads with biore nose pack on that first day. As i told you before, this small bottle only last for a week or last, maybe 6 days for me? do you want to know the effect of this miracle snail cure?
well, on the 3rd day, i could see my skin looks better, specially in the morning. using this at night is like using a sleep mask everyday. in the morning when i woke up, i got this same effect like using sleeping mask. a soft, brighter good look skin. nice, right. so maybe for me it's good to use this at night only, not a day light.

in conclusion, it's like 50-50. i like the rich moisturizer in it, i like the effect i got every morning i woke up, but i don't like how it make my nose more oily and the fact how it effected my nose and those whiteheads, and the last is.. the price. all the snail skin care are expensive!! i wanted to try other snail skin care like etude house or tony moly, but when i checked the price, wooooaaa... so expensive specially comparing to other korean skin care. so, i don't know, maybe if i have more budget i will buy. what do you think? should i buy more snail skin care?

mask review : Baviphat juicy mask sheet strawberry

This is my first mask sheet from Baviphat. For the last 2 years i have been using my beauty diary mask sheet, trying all variants available, just simply because it's cheap. so when i saw one of the seller sell this item with the same price with my beauty diary. i bought 2 to try out.
the packaging is cute, not like any other mask sheet with square shape packaging, this one comes with a jug/juice bottle shape. Last night i tried the strawberry one, which the target is for pore&trouble.
my experience with Baviphat juicy mask sheet strawberry;
First, the shape of the mask is not too big or too small, but also not a perfect fit for my face, but still ok. the scen is strawberry, but not too yummy or fresh smell. maybe a little bit too artificial smell for me, and after some minutes the smell dissapeared.

So after washing my face i put this mask on and lay down on the bed, enjoying me-time, feeling the mask giving me this cold-nice-moisturised feeling. From the picture on the back of pachaging, i should put this on for 15-20 minutes. it was all good, no uncomfortable feeling, only just before 20 minutes, maybe aroung 18-19 minutes, i started feeling itchy all over my face. so i just took it off my face and massage my face with the leftover liquid from the mask.

the result, fresh and brighten look. my face looks whiter. and reaaallllly fresh. no tired, dull face. but too bad, the result is temporary only, not last long until the next day. But overall, i still like it and i don't mind buying more to try other variants. the only think i don't like is the itchy at the end of 20 minutes. maybe i should just put it on for 15 minutes before it gets itchy.
i can't tell for other effect of this mask, well, its target is for pore and trouble, but i think i need to use this regularly to see result for that.

primer review : nature republic ice jelly primer cherry

I wanted to write more reviews since last week but.. my daughter spilled bubble water to my phone, which is also my camera, so i couldn't take any pictures. hikss.. well, the phone is completely off right now. Well, the good thing is my husband is keeping his old phone, so i can use it. The camera quality is not as good as mine, so i'm so sorry if some pictures are not clear.

anyway, let's jump to the product review today, which is nature republic ice jelly primer in cherry. there is also in green melon and the purple one i think is blueberry (correct me if i'm wrong). I bought this out of my curiosity. i just wanted to try nature republic product. All this time i have been buying and trying skin food, etude house, innisfree, baviphat, even the new holika holika. So i was looking for nature republic's review, and i found good reviews about this primer, and since i have been looking for primer and haven't found my favourite primer yet, so i gave it a try!

what's this product?
well, it's a jelly texture primer with spf 28 PA++. i tried to look for information or description about this product from the net, but it's hard to find information in english. these are some description from ebay and gmarket seller
  • give moisture to dry skin before applying make up
  • help to cover enlarged pores and uneven textures
  • enhances natural beauty of skin tone
  • perfectly glides onto skin
  • highly protects skin from damage of UV rays
heemmm... good enough for me. oke then, let's try it.
first, the packaging comes with this very simple tube. even the name is written in white, not spot on. not to attractive comparing to other korean products
the texture is really like a jelly. and look at that surface.. it keeps flat like that. although you did your finger in it to scoop some product out, it will get back like that. nice..
applied on my hand, the texture is jelly-creamy, easy to apply and absorb as long as your face moisturised. when your face is dry, it's a little bit hard to apply and blend.
the texture after i scooped out some product. after awihile it will be back to flat. i was surprised at first!

my experience with nature republic ice jelly primer in cherry
First time i tried this primer was when i was in jakarta. I remember it was my friend's wedding, in the afternoon, outside, no ac, with Jakarta humid weather and bright sun, and heavy make up.. it turned out that this primer helped to kepp my make up stay good. It was very hot that day and i was sweating, but when i checked on the mirror, my make up still good. i need to blot my nose area with oil paper, but it was fine. Until i got back home, my make up still stay good, not giving me a dull look although i was outside under the sun (well, there was some tents but not really helping) for some hours.

I also tried to use this primer indoor, like to the mall or some family gathering, and happy with the result that somehow it brighten my skin. it also made my face looks fresh and better skin.

but then when i was in Yemen, and my skin gets more dry, one day i tried this primer again before going out. i spray my skin food mist before this primer, and when i started to apply this on my face.. oh my God..  i saw dry flakes! in fact this primer show the dry flakes very clearly! so unpretty, dry flakes everywhere.. i tried to calm myself down, ok, let's apply bb cream maybe it will add some moisture and cover the dry flakes.. and it's even worse!! dry flakes on my forehead like my skin is peeling.. i remember how i was kind of fruetated that day.. should i repeat from the beginning? remove all this and wash my face, and start again with moisturiser? well, seems like i have no choice right..

So, it worked good for me when i was in Jakarta but not here in Yemen. so my conclusion is, it's not really that good in moisturise the skin. if you have dry skin or in winter, you really need to apply good moisturiser before this, because this primer is not really helping to moisturize your skin. But for oily skin, or if you are in humid country, this could be good.

and as for me, no it's not my favourite primer. because i would like my primer to also moisturize my skin and give me smooth and silky finish. This primer didn't give me that. what i like about this primer is the brightening effect and how it helps to keep make up stay longer, and how it makes your  bb cream looks better on your face when you apply this on.

if you have any recommendation primer, please tell me.

hair care review : the body shop Banana shampoo & conditioner

this would be a short review, since it's not my favourite products. i'm so sorry again, the body shop..
i was interested to try this because..
  • it's banana, it smells delicious
  • i like a set of shampoo and conditioner, specially with delicious scent, not cosmetic artificial fragrance smell like most shampoo from the supermarket.
this is the information the body shop banana shampoo & conditioner :
go banana-rama for this gourgeusly fruity shampoo.it leaves hair super sheeny, just like our origina; one. Now with community trade banana puree.
for all hair types.

my experience with this shampoo & conditioner :
  • they smell similar. not like the real banana or banana pure, but smells more like banana candy or cake. it smells nice though.
  • the texture is really thick. even the shampoo is thick. maybe the thickest shampoo i've ever tried? and the conditioner is even thicker.
  • how is it for my hair? too bad, it doesn't help with my tangled-dry hair. maybe the function of this shampoo is only to clean the hair, that's it. my hair still tangled even i just washed my hair. and the scent doesn't stay long, not even a day.

left : shampoo right : conditioner
so, overall i'm dissapointed with this one.  still have many products left and i can't even be bother to finish it. just put them aside and start to use other shampoo and conditioner.

5 days without make up

have you tried to live without make up products for a week? a day? 2 days? 3 days? I challenged myself not to put any make up for 5 days. why? because recently i have this dry skin with fakes here and there, so not pretty and healthy skin. Normally i would try some different masks or cream to heal this problem, but this time i decided to do something different, which is..say good bye to make up products for some days. i've read an article in a magazine long time ago about how you should give your skin a rest from cosmetics, at least one day a week. it's also kind of detoxification for your skin.

So last monday i started not to put any make up. No  bb cream, no foundation, no loose powder or pact powder, no blush on, nothing! after cleansing i only applied toner and cream, that's it.
skin care products i was using during my 5 days without make up. skin food fresh juice toner. Because no pair toner for my latest favourite tony moly ice queen multi play cream, so i reached back my skinfood fresh juice toner that i still have 1/4 bottle left, then etude house sleeping pack (2-3 times a week) and skin food rice mask wash off (once a week)
and of course, cleansing products. currently i'm using innisfree apple juicy cleansing oil and innisfree lemongrass cleaning lotion (review coming soon!). when i put make up on, i used both cleansing (double cleansing), but since i didn't put any make up i just used one of them. sometimes cleansing lotion only, sometimes cleansing oil.

so now i'm going to tell you my experience and result with my 5 days without make up program.
Day 1- first day without make up. i was affraid that my face will look dull without make up, but turned out it was not that bad. in the afternoon when i felt my skin dry i re-applied the cream for extra moisturizer.
Day 2- i started seeing the result since day 2!! dry flakes totally reduced-almost gone. my face looked more glowing. seriously.
Day 3- that's it! no more dry flakes, no more dry skin!!i was tempted to stop here on the 3rd day and started using make up again the next day, but i managed not to reach any make up.
Day 4- the result is even better...
day 5-better, healthier, glowing skin, no dry flakes, no zits, no spot, i even noticed that before i started this no make up days i had some potential upcoming spots on my forehead and now they are all gone.

today- i started to put again some primer and bb cream :)

in conclusion, i really recommended for all of you to have one or two days a week with no make up. if you are working maybe you can try it on the weekend? and as for me, i will give my skin a break from make up every once or twice a week, and maybe someday in the future i will do this again, 5 days or maybe a week without make up.
