shopping & haul review : Zinati

Around a month ago i spotted this new store in the city, named zinati. from outside so obvious that it's a one stop shopping for beauty products. so last week when i had a chance i visited it. From the plastic bag i got, it seems like it's a branch store from jeddah. maybe it's like watson but in middle east. well, i was excited enought to see the various range of beauty products from shampoo, shop, make up, beauty tools, beauty bags.. all that stuff, from brand all around the world. and i was happy to see some familiar brand like l'oreal and garnier. Yup. it's hard to find l'oreal products here. only in one or other 2 places i know. the cosmetic part is also interesting, although i don't recognize the brand.

anyway.. now i'll just show you stuff i bought there;

right now i'm using this 2 garnier eye roll on.. i will try to use it for a month then write a review.

Watson @Shanghai Haul

When i was in Shanghai, China, one of my favourite shop was Watson! i Think i visited Watson more than 3 times in 3 different malls there. I was excited to shop for bags and shoes too, but when i entered Watson, i got even more excited with all those cute skin care and make up that are not available in indonesia. Everytime i entered Watson i alway ended up with something in my shopping Basket. lol.

well, let's take a look what i got there

Shower travel set! contain body scrub, body wash and body lotion. My husband and i looove this kind of set. Not just that it's convinient for travel but also it's nice to use complete body care from the same set and same scent. My mom loves this kind of cuties too so i bought another 2 of this for her.
I've tried the grape one and it smells sweet.. like grape but not too much grape scent in it.

Hair products..the one on the left is another travel set..contain shampoo, conditioner and body wash. at that time we were staying for a week in Shanghai, and the shampoo at the hotel was not so good so we went to Watson to buy Shampoo, we found this set so we bought 3 sets of this. lol. The shampoo and conditioner was so so, not my fav though. The one on the left is bubble hair mask. Yup.. i'm a sucker of the cute packaging so i bought this because of the packaging.lol

and then.. there is this tools to suck your white heads/blackheads on the nose. My husband bought me this because he knew that i'm obsessed with the big pores on my nose. Lol. i tried this and although it worked but it hurted and made my nose red so i didn't use it a lot. The one on the right is a peeling gel and i haven't tried it yet.

There are soo many cute stuff in watson.. There was this rack full of skin care goodies with cute cute packaging.. sleeping pack, mask, cream,, all so tempting but i only bought one which is a cleanser and i don't have the picture because i left it in Jakarta.

Overall, i enjoyed shopping in watson, it's always nice to see many different stuff there. from local brand to intenational brand. i was so tempted to try some maybelline product that's not available in indoneisa too but i really really needed to stop.lol

innisfree haul from Shanghai, china

2 months ago i travelled to china, not really for travelling actually. i was accompany my husband for his bussiness travel. We didn't get a chance to visit tourist attraction. it was pure bussiness and i spent my day shopping around while my husband went for factory visit.

So one day in Nanjing road, i found innisfree country in one of the mall there. Yeaaayyy i'm so excited. it was my first visit to innisfree store. Innisfree is not open their store yet in Jakarta, so i was so happy to find one in shanghai. well, i was more happy when i found out that they sell many travel/mini size product. I dont have to buy all full size. yeaaayyy..

well then let's take a look, start from the big green box

it's a men series of innisfree. Forest for men, fresh skin and lotion. There are some other choices for free gift but i chose this one so my husband can try innsifree too.

i forgot how much this cost in china yuan, but i remember at that time i tried to convert it to rupiah and it was around 400.000 something in rupiah.

my latest haul from local shop

Last week i went to a new mall in the city. I was looking for a nose pore pack and yeaaayyy i found it! why i said yeaaaayy? because in this city it's hard to find it. there's no biore brand nose pore pack, and beauty shop or cosmetic shops her are local with some inported stuff randomly from all around the world. So i found the nose pore pack, and i'm also glad that i found sheet masks.
Ok this id for the details and some short review :

Ok, this one is the nose pore pack. the name of the brand is.... Touch me please nose pore cleansing strips green tea. There are 2 variants, green tea and aloe vera. This one made in korea. But i think this one is special customized to distributr in arab countries, since there's some information written in arabic too.

Last night i tried the green tea one, and woaaaa,,, it superbs! the result, it took out all my white heads including those stuborn, fat big one. i'm totally happy with the result.

Next is.. mask sheets! I bought all variants available in the market... it's a random buy i know.. but it's hard to find mask sheets here so i just bought them. The name of this product is miss beauty and it's made in china. the variants are snail,cucumber, apricot, cactus, wheat protein, grape yogurt, strawberry and pomegranate. So yup, there is snail mask! snail is booming lately in korean cosmetic industry so i want to try it too!! anyway, this mask sheet cost 200 YR each or around 12.000 rupiah

the first one i tried is.. the snail one of course.
When i first taking out the mask from the packaging, i noticed that the mask is not too wet and there's no liquid left inside the packaging. I put it on my face, and it dry out very quickly. and after awhile i felt my face itchy so i just took it off. i don't know was it the snail or the mask itself that wasn't good for me. because just after i took it off, i saw some zits right away.. woooaaa,, i was freakin out! but then the next morning my face turned out ok, no zits or any other effect. fiuuuuuuhhh.. thank God.. i still have many variants... i will try to see is it the snail extract or all the masks not good for me.

last but not least... the dove shampoo and conditioner. i felt my hair became more rough and tangled these days,, and after i used this dove shampoo and conditioner, my hair improved right away. it feels softer and less tangled. yeaaayyy

This year was the second time i ordered korean cometics here. Last year i ordered some travel set from ready stock folder. this year i ordered some items from pre order to see the service and the price. 

first, for the website, you can see the products in her multiply site, but for the pre order pricelist you can see it on her blogspot site. but there's a link to it so don't worry about it. the products are categorised by brands so it's easy to find what you are looking for. but not too many available for ready stock products.

the price, not too much different from other seller. i noticed some products are cheaper and some products are more expensive (comparing to other online seller for korean cosmetics). 

For the service, it is good. every questions, orders, update are by emails. well, that's what i did. i think she can also accept order or questions by sms, facebook, or tokopedia. the seller is nice and helpfull, and what i like from her is that she is also a korean products user, and she wrote reviews about products she tried on her blogspot site.

Back to online shopping review, this is the last stop of my list for korean beauty products. i wrote about onikchan before here, just a preview and my recent purchase, now it will be full review :)

Onikchan has loooots of beauty products. Not just from korea, but also from US, Japan, Taiwan, and many more i guess. seriously, i don't know how she could manage soo many products like that. ok, i will mention the brands available here; D.U.P, Jill stuart, shills, kevin beauty maker, dot dot, beauty DIY, vin vin, majolica majorca, chacott, melliesh, faceq mask, my beauty diary, canmake, candydoll, kanebo, koji, sana, kiss me, hadalabo, kose, biore (import),  lunasol, holika holika, beauty credit, a'pieu, tony moly, innisfree, etude house, skinfood, liole, baviphat, vov, nature republic, the face shop, missha, banila co, 3w clinic powder. WOW. soooo many. and not just all that brands, she also open pre order from sephore, drugstore and nordstorm.

Many of that products i mentioned are still new for me and i am not familiar with. so, why i like this store most is obvious because it is the most complete brands, some are still rare to find in jakarta or other seller. For me, this store is to find something that other sellers don't have, and also to find new products to try.

my first purchase here was travel set of skin food and  my second purchase was eco tools brush and everyday mineral brush.this year, i bought this:

skin food gold kiwi set, etude house rub me tender ( i wasn't planning to buy this. i was planning to buy something else from nature republic but not available so i just replaced with this since i need peeling), and nature republic banana mousse pack.

other thing about onikchan, she is good with customers and total commited. well, there is this story that last year, when i placed ecotools brush, it turned out that the arriving schedule was late. i was panicked as i was leaving jakarta soon. and i bet she really felt sorry too, and thank God it arrived one day before i left jakarta, and she delivered it to my door, not by post. hehe..it was quite a story though, how my other ecotools brush was not arrived yet, so she changed it into everyday mineral brush, which is ok for me.

so, this is my last stop for korean products/cosmetics online shopping.i hope you girls enjoy reading it.

supermarket, mayestik and other shops shopping hauls

First day when we arrived in Jakarta, first thing we needed to go to the supermarket to buy tooth brush, shampoo, soap, etc. I enjoyed looking at all new products i didn't see last time (which is last year!).I felt like i wanted to buy and try all the new products there. lol. Everytime we passed supermarket, either carrefour, hero, giant, food hall, i always stopped by and picked some interesting products. And of course, one day we also went shopping to Mayestik, and i bought some hair products with cheaper price and rare to find in supermarket.

overall, i enjoyed so much shopping for beauty products in jakarta, and i bet next year there will be more new and interesting products to try! As for this year, here are the products i chose to buy and try:

from supermarket :

Rudi hadisuwarno hair growth serum (this is not the first time i bought this product. i tried it before and it worked great, so i repurchased this) - biore make up remover cleansing foam (i bought the cleansing sheet too, but i finished it)- loreal derma genesis set (foam, toner, gel cream)- maybeline lip&eye make up remover- wardah olive oil - ponds toner - ponds whitening set (cleansing foam, day and night cream) - taman sari mustika ratu shampoo and conditioner- mustika ratu conditioner - makarizo hair energy

from mayestik :

Mayestik these days so not convinient as the big building is under renovation and all tenants moved to the side of the road, small small temporary shops. But thank God 2 of the cosmetic shops located in the front so i didn't have to go inside. The first one named budi mulia (the very famous one since long ago, i guess) and the other one i forgot the name, but it is located next to budi mulia and surprisingly, cheaper price! 

Anyway, from Mayestik i bought hair products. Makarizo hair texture shampo and conditioner variant mint, strawberry yogurt, green tea and black chocolate. I've tried 2 variants before; vanilla and cinamon coffee, and i liked them, so i bought the rest of the variants to try. i also bougth l'oreal hair spa for around Rp.90.000 (i forgot the exact price), but i saw in ranch market it was Rp.115.000.

next is makarizo hair energy (for creambath) honey&royal jelly, another cream creambat i never tried, and makarizo rebonding system (although i don't know if i really need this. haha.. maybe one day if i want a make over)

i also bought 2 wardah lipstick from mayestik but i forgot to put them together here.

from the body shop:

the body shop had a great deal when i went there.. i went to body shop not just once but more than that. first, i bought banana shampoo and conditioner and my husband also bought a set of men body wash and aftershave. that day we got one free product to choose. we can choose any product and they will count the cheapest as a free gift. so we chose spa wisom japan. Next visit, they have a good sale for shampoo, soap, and some set of their products so i bought ice blue shampoo (around 15.000 to 20.000 rp cheaper than normal price).

other shops :

i am a fan of body scrubs made in indonesia! i bought lulur bali sekar jagat, bali ratih, mustika ratu, wardah and vivele.

i guess that's it for my beauty products shopping. Now it is time to try and enjoy using them...

I am officially back in Yemen after one month plus one week spend holiday in my hometown, Jakarta, Indonesia. Holiday in Jakarta for me is not just about spending time with family, but of course... Shopping!! Actually even before my trip i already made some order from internet, specially korean cosmetics that i joined pre order from some sellers.

Shopping and beauty products i found in Taiz, Yemen

A while ago (when i started to write this ne blog), i read in lovely cosme blog about indonesia cosmetics-lulur paradise, you can read here , she remind me of  how i love indonesian products, specially body scrub/lulur, and how i ordered one box of lulur bali all varians when i first came to Yemen, because i was afraid that there would be no lulur here in Yemen. hehe.. I left a comment on her site, and she replied, asked me about yemen local cosmetic brands or beauty products..well, i swear i was gonna write about that on my first post but i was so excited writing reviews about korean cosmetic brands at that time.

Anyway, now i decided to write about shopping in Yemen and beauty products i found in Yemen. First, Yemeni women like to go shopping in Souq. What is Souq? well, if you watch sex and the city 2 where they travelled to Abu dhabi, then you know what souq is. It is more like traditional market, you can found everything there. Here in Taiz don't expect a mall like pondok indah mall or plaza senayan. There is no such thing like that. We shop in the souq. The souq in Taiz is located in 26 street, it is a loooong street. you will get tired walking and shopping here. My mom asked me what is it like, and i told her, well, maybe you can imagine Blok M behind melawai plaza or pasar mayestik, but it is a looong road with shops on your light and right. The main street is always crowded, and there are some alleys with air conditioner, one you enter, there is another long alley with shops. there are also some 3-4 storey building like ITC, cafes, Bank, restaurants, and at one end of the street is spice and foods market.

When i first came to Yemen, i bought my beauty products from Al furais supermarket, that i wrote a post about it before. I found some familiar products, like l'oreal and clean&clear for my face, sunsilk, garnier, herbal essence for my hair, dove, lux, nivea, johnsons for body. For baby&kids products, what familiar for me is only johnson&johnsons. the rest are new for me.And for your information, there is no unilever, or P&G in yemen. so all that products i mentioned are not made in Yemen. They are all imported.
For me who like trying new products, it was interesting to found many new products i never heard before and not available in Indonesia.

After a while i met some new friends here, then i started visiting souq and found my self enjoying my time in souq. Beauty stores in Souq are intersting. i was surprised to found many brands from all over the word. The seller always sell by saying, oh, this one is made in germany, this one made in france.. this one made in USA.. bla bla.. i wanted to try foundation or powder but never found a right shade for me. so i just bought lipstick, lip gloss, eye liner, eye brow pencil, from various brand i have no idea.lol
There is this interesting story, when i wanted to buy dove soap bar in the souq. I told the seller, i wanted dove soap. And the seller asked me, Dove made in germany or Dove made in UAE? i was like what? what's the difference? then the seller gave me both to compare, and yes they smell different even though they are the same dove variant. and the other day i heared a woman asked for dove made in USA. the seller said sold out.Then i heard they offered her dove made in germany and made in UAE, but she didn't want. she insisted she wants only dove made in USA. wow. then i heard they were talking about dove  made in usa is a favourite here. well, that's a new thing for me..

anyway, let's jump to some products i found here. Here are beauty products i have now;

I checked the packaging, most of them made in germany, some made in france, uae, UK, PRC..

This is my fav line products at this time.shampoo, conditioner and body cream shower. the name is "Dulgon", under the company Mann & schroder, made in germany. and of course the first reason i bought them is because they smell good..i got fade up with shampo, conditioner and soap with cosmetic-artificial smell, so when i found this i was so happy... the shampoo and conditioner i bought 3 varians. Acocado&mango, apricot and olive.

look at this. cream shower with coconut flavor? it smells yummmyyy,, i love it a lot! it smells like coconut milk (santan).

and this is Dulgon for kids. the lotion smells soooo girly and sweet. The other bottle is a hair mist, or like zwitsal hair lotion.

My fav body creams!!! the name is "soft colors", made in PRC. There are so many variants, and these are my 4th, 5th, and 6th tubes. i finished my first 3. I keep buying them because they are good in moisturizing my skin, and they smell niiiiceee...

.. while this one is my husband's fav lotion from johnson's. it is made in france.

scrubs.. the left one is from farmasi, made in turkey. Farmasi is quite famous here. not just body scrubs, they have also body spray and make up. I saw one farmasi counter in one of the shop here. the website is www.farmasi.com.tr . the right one is beauty formula, made in UK.

another products for baby,, the name is sanosan, made in germany, also under company mann & schroder

 Vaseline jelly!!! vaseline jelly is a must have here. it is a "weapon" for women here. all women in yemen have at least one in their house. hehe,, well, at least that's what i got from all my Yemeni friends here. It is like a multi purpose cream here. for your lip, very dry skin, crackes heels, etc. i am so happy that now they have varians, not just original. now they have varians in aloe and shea butter.

and this is the dove soap made in germany i mentioned before..

now for hair care... in Yemen you need more than just shampoo and conditioner, as the weather is extra dry here and your hair will become dry too. seriously, my hair was so smooth before and i have no problem brushing my hair, not it's dry and hard to brush smoothly. so you need extra treatment. you can choose hair cream, hair oil, or anyany other you like. At this time i have l'oreal elvive nutri gloss sine masque.this one is made in UK. then i have sunsilk hair fall solution hair cream. this one is available in indonesia too. and for another hair cream is eva honey hair cream, made in egypt.
I also have Vatika cactus hair oil. Vatika is one of the middle east famous brand. it is product of UAE. they have also shampoo and conditioner with many variants. oh, and hair oil is also very popular here. mow women use hair oil for their hair.. the next product with ginseng inside is banana leaf hair crystal, made in PRC, and garnier fructis oil replacement, the same function like hair oil, only in cream texture.this one is made in france.

almost finish.. for yemeni local, they have some lotion or cream perfume. so it is actually a fragrance/perfume, but the texture is cream, it is home made, and smells oud or some arabic fragrance.They have also in oil texture where they put them in some fancy perfume bottle. But for soap, shampoo, lotions, make up, all import.

Haul from Al-furais

I wanted to write this post together with my last arhab haul, but then my daughter woke up and started crying, so i couldn't write another post.

Anyway, Al furais is not a beauty  store. It is a supermarket, in fact my fav one in Taiz. It is also favourite for foreigners, because they sell import food. Yup, mostly they sell food and beverages, and of course some house cleaning supplies just like other supermarket. They also have beauty corner, where they sell bath and body products and of course make up.

my haul last saturday :

 left to tright : Dulgon cream soap milk & honey, soft colors body cream in pure seduction, soft colors body cream in vanilla lace,garnier fructis oil replacement, vatika cactus enrich hair oil, banana leaf hair crystal ginseng formula

i'm so excited trying this product. as you can see, there is a real ginseng inside the bottle.cooolll... can't wait to try this one!!

Haul from Arhab part 2-> shawl, hijab, accessories

As i mentioned in my previous post before, Arhab also sells shawls, pashmina, hijab, inner hijab, accessories, almost everything women need. Normally i bought hijab from souq, but yesterday i saw they have new collections. i wanted to buy 2 or 3, but i couldn't choose, so i just took 7. lol

what i am so happy about it is that they are cheap! around 500-800 YR only, or around Rp.25.000-Rp.40.000. Last week i was browsing hijab from online seller in Indonesia, and browsing about hijab style and trends from muslimah bloggers, and i can see that now the trends is arabic style,or they call it "kerudung arab" and pashmina, no longer "jilbab paris". Kalau yang aku lihat sih sekarang lebih banyak yang pakai kerudung segi panjang ala pashmina daripada kerudung segiempat yang dilipat dua jadi segi tiga. bener ngga?
well, here in Yemen the trend also with this kind of hijab, not "jilbab paris" style. anyway, when i was browsing hijab shops on the net, the price is around Rp.45.000-Rp.80.000 for this kind of hijab. So yes, i am so happy i can get them cheap..

untuk yang ini macem2 sebutannya. ada yang bilang kerudung turki, ada yang bilang kerudung arab motif..

jepitan, bros, dan pin-pin/klip sebagai pelengkap berjilbab..

overall,,, i'm so happy with everything i bought yesterday.. but i can't found inner jilbab that cover the neck too, in Indonesia some call it ciput ninja, ciput syria, ciput leher.. apa lagi yah? di sini belum ada yang jual tuh..  so i will still do some online shopping soon..
